    Uber

    Software Engineer 2

    Backend engineer on the Uber Eats catalog teams, building distributed systems and data platforms with Go, Kafka, Cadence, Spark, Apache Pinot and Hive.

    • Built and own Uber's only real-time catalog changelog: a Kafka to Pinot pipeline with a Go retrieval service, taking in 5 billion events (6 TB) a day.
    • Designed the Migration Orchestrator in Go, Cadence, Kafka, Hive and Pinot. It prepared and verified the move of 5 million merchants, about $80B in yearly gross bookings, from Uber's legacy menu system to the INCA catalog platform, and can verify all 5 million in a single day.
    • Led the engineers on the restaurant menu to catalog migration. We sorted every store by what was blocking it and split the work up to finish sooner.
    • Built the migration's tracking dashboards end to end, React frontend included, since the team had no frontend engineer. They showed the biggest gaps and set the team's priorities.
    • Founding engineer on Catalog Manager. Led backend work on its product management pages, including dynamic attribute rendering and sub-millisecond P99 latency when fetching data for 50 stores.

    Spent a year on the warehouse management system team, in Boston.

    Software Engineering Intern

    Moved an ETL data pipeline from Bash and SQL to Python on Airflow (Google Cloud Composer). Also built a tool with a team of interns that showed trending articles by location.

    Software Developer Intern

    Three internships. The last was in the R&D lab, building voice assistant prototypes and an iPhone app that talked to Bluetooth beacons around the campus.
